Artist in Residence

January - March 2025 @ CASM Community Workshop Space, 63 Ormsby Terrace, Mandurah

1st February

January was mostly about getting read for the Perception exhibition. It has been an amazing process, but I am definitely feeling a lot lighter now it is open.

My Apothecary set is definitely my favourite piece from this exhibition - and I sold the blue urn on opening night!

The staff at CASM are an amazing group of talented women, who make magic happen through their annual program of exhibitions and programs.

It is a wonderful environment to share, and I am looking forward to the next two months.

My next project was to set up a slip casting station - so that I can cast a series of pots every time I am in the studio.

These single piece molds offer amazing flexibility, either by inverting the pot to create a new form, or joining two of the same or even two different pots to create a larger vessel.

Most of the finished pieces will be used for testing new glazing and decorating techniques during my residency, but a few will be hidden away to start creating some examples for my next exhibition idea!

27th February

So… I guess my residency goal of posting on my website and social media hasn’t gotten off to a great start.

My first workshop was amazing, with a beautiful group of people, lots of laughs and some fantastic pots. I will post in progress photos shortly.

My March goals are all about printing on clay. I have some new equipment, tools and tricks to try out.

Stay tuned…
